Dina is originally from the central coast of California and has a heart for helping to enrich her community. After 30 years of working with children, adolescents, and adults, she has observed a marked increase in mood disorders, depression, and anxiety. She is inspired to build and support emotionally strong individuals through interpersonal awareness and skill development that can better lives. Her extensive background working with international aid organizations and global initiatives have made her comfortable and proficient in connecting with people from various cultures and backgrounds. Dina strives to help those she contacts to feel connected, known, and inspired.
Dina graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara with a BA in Cultural Anthropology, an MA in Organizational Leadership from Azusa Pacific University, and an MA in Clinical Mental Health from Concordia University. Holistic health is her passion. She takes an integrative approach to counseling that conceptualizes issues through a biopsychosocial spiritual lens and includes modalities of mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT), solution-focused therapy, and emotionally focused therapy (EFT). She is also trained in couple’s counseling, trauma-informed care and crisis debriefing. She has served as an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara County. She lives in Morro Bay and loves time with her husband and 4 grown children, mountain biking, tennis, and discovering beautiful new places in the world.
